About Paw Bearers
Born out of a desire to offer a unique and practical solution, we take pride in crafting New Zealand's first-ever kitset pet coffins. We believe in making the farewell process more accessible and personal. Our story is woven with a passion for pets, a touch of Kiwi ingenuity, and a commitment to providing pet owners with a thoughtful and convenient way to say goodbye.
How it all started
The inspiration struck when Travis experienced the loss of his own dog, Rusty. Faced with the high cost of dog cremation as one of the only options, he took matters into his own hands.
Armed with some spare wood, Travis decided to craft a personal pet coffin, providing a heartfelt and affordable farewell for his beloved dog. This touching experience fueled the birth of Paw Bearers, ensuring that others could bid their pets farewell with both warmth and budget-friendliness.
The idea expanded into needing a good design and efficient machinery, that's where Travis enlisted Zane and Isaac to take control of. They sympathised with Travis' loss and felt compelled to prepare for when their dog leaves them. With their experience in cabinetry and manufacturing they came up with the simplistic and cost-effective design you see today.
